The portal for both Reception and Junior admissions is now open and will close on 15th January 2027.
Don't worry about rushing to apply! Take your time to look around the schools that interest you - the timing of your application has no determination on the allocation of your school. School places are allocated in the order of each school's Admissions policy and no applications are reviewed until after the closing date.
Another thing to consider is that when you check the catchment area on the website, Moorfield has a very small one! We have lots of children in our school who don't live within the named catchment area, which has been in place for many years. Please don't let this put you off visiting us!
Visiting Moorfield
We encourage prospective parents to visit us on a normal school day. Our Headteacher Ian Bussey will show you around and Sue Hedges, School Business Manager will talk about wraparound care arrangements and more general information about the school.
We have now booked in visit dates for the Autumn Term. Dates start in October and run through to January.
All visits take place at 9.40am and will last around 45 minutes. Visits are for parents to find out more about how the children learn in the school and what enrichment opportunities and wraparound care that we offer. Of course, if you have no childcare for your child or younger children, then you are welcome to bring them along too!
If you choose our school and are allocated a place, then we run an induction programme for the children in the Summer Term before they start with us in September 2027. Children get to spend time in school with you in school too, a couple of visits without you there and also share a lunch with you before they start.
